#Dr. Abdul Jabbar has earned his Master’s, M. Phil. and PhD in the field of Library and Information Science form the Institute of Information Management, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. His research in M. Phil. and PhD was related to the development of leisure reading habits among primary graders and the role of parents, family, and teachers in stimulating these habits. He has 13 peer-reviewed national and international publications and most of them are related to leisure and literacy habits of children and affecting factors. By considering his research interests, he is serving as a Chief Editor of the three journals of the Centre; Journal of Childhood Literacy and Societal Issues, Social Sciences Spectrum, and Research Journal of Social and Human Aspects.

He with his team of volunteers has conducted many reading promotional activities in public sector schools specifically situated at the remote areas of district Lahore to fill the literacy gap of underprivileged and literacy-deprived children. The report of one of his projects is published in a peer-review journal; Evidence Based Library and Information Practice. He is an enthusiastic, diligent and vibrant promoter of the literacy and leisure reading habits of children and has the intention to provide literacy experiences to underrepresented communities.
